Today is the day. I'm rewriting the seventh episode of WaiMin as the twelfth episode under the new version. Sharp is better focused as a character. There's less emphasis on the villagers. The characters that will matter in Part 2 have been given greater prominence. The story has been tightened. Blades have been sharpened. Crazy doohickeys have been made doohickier. All around, this is looking good. I can't wait to share it with you.
Today I will fix the transition from the beginning of old Episode 7 to fit with new Episode 11. That's not confusing at all, is it? I imagine that the majority of the episode can be kept, but I'll know better when I start pulling out my shears.
The plan is to finish this rewrite (which has been severely delayed by my severe illness), work up Cattleya's character design, make a new avatar for Kindle Vella, add some graphics to this blog, then upload the rewrite, thus replacing the old with the new. I also have various server side tasks to finish. I'd like to make this blog public at the same time that I update WaiMin on KV.
If these changes don't attract new readers on KV, I'll pull it from that platform and move the story to other platforms. I just don't think our story is a good fit over there, but Gray is fixated on waiting until I update the avatar before deciding. I suppose a pretty minotaur girl will attract more eyeballs than our hoary old minotaur dude, but I may just move off KV anyway and not tell him. He probably won't notice.
Only when all of that is completed will I worry about Ghost of a Chance. What's that? Well, let's not worry about it until I've got Part 2 of WaiMin underway.
